Job Summary

To transport and deliver Whitaker chemicals to customers by applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and road in the area. The truck driver will be responsible for driving to and from designated locations, verifying load to shipping papers, maintain record of duty status according to state and federal regulations, and performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections.

During down time you will also work in the warehouse performing an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders.

Position Requirements

• Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips and submit a written report on the condition of the truck at the end of each trip or tour of duty.
• Requires drivers to be able to bend, stoop, kneel, pull, push and lift all types of hoses, equipment and tools required to do the job weighing up to 50 pounds or more. Also, drivers must be able to climb ladders to check holding tanks on equipment.
• Responsibilities may also require offloading tankers, drumming, and warehouse duties. Forklift experience desired but not required.
• Able to life 55 pounds safely.

• Able to be flexible to drive and work in warehouse.

• Proper handling and accurate completion of all necessary paperwork related to truck operation and freight movements.
• Professional representation of the company and the trucking industry through responsible driving and appearance.
• Must have knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspection and maintenance.

*Depending on skills, aptitude and qualifications this Job is 80% driving and 20% warehouse with room for growth.

Physical Demands and Abilities

• Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds.
• Frequently required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

• Tanker Endorsement
• Preferred: Forklift Certification
